Pineapple Peach Spinach Smoothie

Pineapple and peach balance sharper and mellower fruit flavors in a simple spinach smoothie. Water keeps the list short and lets both fruits stand out. There is no banana, yogurt, or nut milk in the default recipe, giving it a lighter texture.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup spinach
  • 0.75 cup frozen pineapple
  • 0.5 cup frozen peaches
  • 1 cup water

Directions

  1. Put the measured liquid in the blender with the prepared leafy greens. Secure the lid and process until the leaves are finely dispersed, stopping the machine before scraping down the sides if needed.
  2. Add the remaining edible ingredients, including the measured fruit, nuts, seeds, or spices listed for this recipe. Blend until evenly combined. Use the machine instructions to choose a suitable speed, and stop before checking texture or scraping the jug.
  3. Taste a small spoonful after blending. If the mixture is too thick to pour, add cold water one tablespoon at a time and blend briefly again. Divide the base batch into 1 serving and enjoy promptly.

Notes

Tips and ingredient notes

Measure prepared fruit and separate frozen pieces before blending. Process spinach and water first, since leaves are harder to break down once a jug is packed with dense frozen fruit chunks.

Remove tough pineapple peel and the firmest core before measuring fresh flesh. For frozen fruit, separate the chunks so they reach the blades evenly. A fibrous pineapple can leave texture even after the softer ingredients have become smooth.

Check fresh peaches for stones before measuring the flesh. Frozen slices offer convenience, but should be separated before blending. Skin may remain visible in the finished drink; that is different from finding hard pieces of fruit that still need processing.

Remove the full apple core, including seeds and hard stem attachments. Small pieces blend more readily than large wedges. Washed peel can stay where your machine handles it well, but a coarse texture may call for peeling in a later version.
