Ingredients

  • 0.5 cup frozen pineapple chunks
  • 1 cup frozen peach slices
  • 1 cup plain coconut yogurt
  • 1 can pineapple chunks in juice (14.5 oz), including juice

Directions

  1. Place the juiciest prepared fruit or vegetables near the blender blades, followed by the softer ingredients. Begin blending gently so they release liquid. If the machine cannot move the mixture, stop and add a small splash of cold water.
  2. Add the remaining edible ingredients, including the measured fruit, nuts, seeds, or spices listed for this recipe. Blend until evenly combined. Use the machine instructions to choose a suitable speed, and stop before checking texture or scraping the jug.
  3. Taste a small spoonful after blending. If the mixture is too thick to pour, add cold water one tablespoon at a time and blend briefly again. Divide the base batch into 2 equal servings and enjoy promptly.

Tips and ingredient notes

Choose pineapple packed in juice, not syrup, and include the juice. Stir coconut yogurt before measuring. Its thickness varies by brand, so adjust only after the frozen fruit has broken down.

Remove tough pineapple peel and the firmest core before measuring fresh flesh. For frozen fruit, separate the chunks so they reach the blades evenly. A fibrous pineapple can leave texture even after the softer ingredients have become smooth.

Check fresh peaches for stones before measuring the flesh. Frozen slices offer convenience, but should be separated before blending. Skin may remain visible in the finished drink; that is different from finding hard pieces of fruit that still need processing.

Ingredient health benefits

  • Peach adds dietary fiber, which supports normal bowel function.
  • Pineapple contributes vitamin C, which supports normal collagen formation.
