Mango gives this smoothie its golden color and soft, rounded flavor. Banana adds body, and orange juice keeps the mixture easy to pour. Because the recipe makes a larger batch, it works well when several people want a small glass alongside breakfast or brunch.
This is a light, refreshing juice-based smoothie rather than a thick yogurt blend. Use a ripe mango that yields slightly when gently pressed, and remove all the peel and the flat central stone. If your mango is especially fibrous, cut the flesh into smaller pieces before it reaches the blender.

Tips and variations
Frozen mango can make preparation easier: use about 250 g in place of the fresh mango. With frozen fruit, start without the ice and check the consistency first. The finished volume depends on fruit size and how much air your blender incorporates, so equal portions are more reliable than filling glasses by eye.
For a less pronounced orange flavor, replace part of the juice with cold water. That changes the flavor and nutrition of the recipe, so keep a note of the proportions you prefer. Serve with a separate protein-containing food if you want a more substantial breakfast; this fruit blend is not designed as a complete meal.
Ingredient health benefits
- Mango and orange juice contribute vitamin C.
- Banana supplies potassium, which supports normal nerve and muscle function.
