Peanut butter gives this banana smoothie a roasted flavor that suits breakfast. A little rolled oat adds body, and oat milk keeps the base dairy-free. Cinnamon and allspice provide a warm flavor without turning the drink into a complicated recipe.
The peanut butter you choose matters. Smooth peanut butter blends readily, while crunchy varieties can leave small pieces behind. Stir a separated jar before measuring so the portion contains both the peanut solids and their oil. Use a ripe banana for sweetness, then taste before considering any additional ingredients.

Tips and variations
For a smoother result, let the oats sit in the measured oat milk for several minutes before blending. This optional soak adds time to preparation. If you prefer a thicker texture, use frozen banana slices and reduce or omit the ice.
Keep the spices modest at first, especially nutmeg, which can dominate a small batch. Different oat milks produce different results, so check whether yours is sweetened or flavored. This recipe contains peanuts; substituting a seed butter changes both the taste and ingredient profile. Choose certified gluten-free oats and suitable oat milk if adapting it for someone who avoids gluten. Serve the small portions alongside other breakfast food as desired.
Ingredient health benefits
- Oats and peanuts contribute fiber, which supports normal bowel function.
