Honeydew Nectarine Spinach Smoothie

Honeydew and nectarine give spinach a gentle summer-fruit flavor. Coconut water makes a light base and lets the melon remain noticeable. Without banana or yogurt, the drink is easily pourable rather than especially thick, highlighting the quality of the ripe fruit.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup fresh spinach
  • 1 cup coconut water
  • 1 cup honeydew, rind and seeds removed
  • 0.5 cup nectarine

Directions

  1. Put the measured liquid in the blender with the prepared leafy greens. Secure the lid and process until the leaves are finely dispersed, stopping the machine before scraping down the sides if needed.
  2. Add the remaining edible ingredients, including the measured fruit, nuts, seeds, or spices listed for this recipe. Blend until evenly combined. Use the machine instructions to choose a suitable speed, and stop before checking texture or scraping the jug.
  3. Taste a small spoonful after blending. If the mixture is too thick to pour, add cold water one tablespoon at a time and blend briefly again. Divide the base batch into 1 serving and enjoy promptly.

Tips and ingredient notes

Remove melon rind and seeds before measuring flesh. Cut around the nectarine stone carefully. Taste the melon first, because bland fruit is difficult to improve just by combining it with other ingredients.

Wash loose spinach well and drain it before measuring. Blend leaves with the listed liquid before adding dense frozen ingredients. This helps prevent intact leaves from collecting above the blades, particularly in a smaller or less powerful blender.

Measure melon flesh after removing rind and seeds. Chilling it in advance helps produce a cooler drink without extra ice. Taste the fruit first: a bland melon remains bland when blended, even if the other ingredients improve the overall balance.
