Fuyu persimmon and orange make a mellow fruit pairing for plain yogurt. Honey and cinnamon round out the flavor without adding another fruit. This seasonal blend is useful when ripe persimmons are available and you want to move beyond banana.

Ingredients
- 0.5 cup plain yogurt
- 1 orange, peeled and seeded
- 2 fuyu persimmons ripe
- 1 teaspoon raw honey
- 0.125 teaspoon ground cinnamon
Directions
- Place the juiciest prepared fruit or vegetables near the blender blades, followed by the softer ingredients. Begin blending gently so they release liquid. If the machine cannot move the mixture, stop and add a small splash of cold water.
- Add the remaining edible ingredients, including the measured fruit, nuts, seeds, or spices listed for this recipe. Blend until evenly combined. Use the machine instructions to choose a suitable speed, and stop before checking texture or scraping the jug.
- Taste a small spoonful after blending. If the mixture is too thick to pour, add cold water one tablespoon at a time and blend briefly again. Divide the base batch into 1 serving and enjoy promptly.
Notes
Contains milk. Prepared ingredients are required; additional cooking, cooling, freezing, brewing, or soaking time is excluded from the active prep estimate. Serving volume and nutrition totals are not measured.

Tips and ingredient notes
Use Fuyu persimmons, remove their tops and seeds, and taste the flesh before blending. Other varieties have different ripeness requirements. Very ripe fruit may already provide much of the sweetness you want.
Peel the orange fully and remove hard seeds before adding it. A little white pith is normal, but thick peel creates bitterness. Smaller segments release juice sooner, which is useful when the recipe starts with only a modest amount of added liquid.
Plain yogurt keeps the fruit and spice balance easier to control. Greek-style products are usually thicker than ordinary natural yogurt, so the same spoon measure can produce a different pour. Blend first, then adjust with small measured additions of liquid if necessary.
Ingredient health benefits
- Plain yogurt provides calcium, which helps maintain bones and teeth.
- Orange provides vitamin C, used in normal collagen formation.
