Pomegranate, strawberry, raspberry, and cherry make a deeply colored fruit blend with red cabbage. Chia adds body, and water keeps the flavor centered on the produce. Some seed texture may remain even after thorough blending, depending on the machine.

Ingredients
- 1 cup red cabbage chopped
- 0.5 cup water chilled
- 0.5 cup pomegranate arils
- 0.5 cup frozen strawberries
- 0.5 cup frozen raspberries
- 0.5 cup cherries frozen, checked for pits
- 2 tablespoon chia seeds
Directions
- Put the measured liquid in the blender with the prepared leafy greens. Secure the lid and process until the leaves are finely dispersed, stopping the machine before scraping down the sides if needed.
- Add the remaining edible ingredients, including the measured fruit, nuts, seeds, or spices listed for this recipe. Blend until evenly combined. Use the machine instructions to choose a suitable speed, and stop before checking texture or scraping the jug.
- Taste a small spoonful after blending. If the mixture is too thick to pour, add cold water one tablespoon at a time and blend briefly again. Divide the base batch into 1 serving and enjoy promptly.
Notes
Prepared ingredients are required; additional cooking, cooling, freezing, brewing, or soaking time is excluded from the active prep estimate. Serving volume and nutrition totals are not measured.

Tips and ingredient notes
Discard thick cabbage ribs and chop the leaves finely. Use pomegranate arils without the peel or tough membrane. Do not keep running a blender that is struggling with a dense frozen mixture.
Remove thick ribs and chop cabbage leaves finely before measuring. Starting with a smaller prepared portion helps the blender process the fibers evenly. A finely blended cabbage base still tastes different from spinach, so judge it as its own vegetable ingredient.
Wash fresh strawberries before removing their tops, then measure the usable fruit. Plain frozen strawberries are convenient when fresh fruit is inconsistent. Avoid sweetened dessert berries, which change the balance and make it harder to compare one batch with another.
Ingredient health benefits
- Chia seeds provide fiber and plant-based omega-3 fat.
- Strawberry provides vitamin C, used in normal collagen formation.
